Editorial Ethics and Corrections Policy

Times Media Inc. is committed to providing the residents of San Jose’s Almaden, Evergreen and Willow Glen districts and the greater City of San Jose and Santa Clara County community with accurate, fair, independent, and trustworthy local journalism. Our mission is to inform, educate, and strengthen our community through responsible reporting and public service. We treat our readers, sources, and members of the community with dignity and professionalism. We protect confidential sources when ethically and legally appropriate.

Community Commitment

Times Media, Inc. is dedicated to covering local government, schools, public safety, business, neighborhoods, community events, and issues that matter most to the people of San Jose and Santa Clara County.

Editorial Standards

Accuracy: We strive to publish information that is factual, verified, and well-sourced. When possible, we confirm information through multiple reliable sources before publication.

Fairness

We seek to present all sides of important community issues fairly. Individuals or organizations that are the subject of criticism are given a reasonable opportunity to respond whenever practical.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made independently of advertisers, sponsors, political organizations, donors, or other outside interests.

Ad policy

Advertising and sponsored content are clearly identified and kept separate from news coverage.

Transparency

We distinguish between news reporting, opinion, editorials, and advertising. If conflicts of interest arise, they will be disclosed whenever appropriate.

Corrections Policy

Maintaining public trust requires accuracy and accountability. If we publish incorrect or misleading information, we will investigate promptly and correct verified errors as quickly as possible.

Requesting a Correction

Readers who believe an article contains a factual error may contact us by email: times@timesmediainc.com

Please include:

        ●        The article title or web link
        ●        The specific information you believe to be incorrect
        ●        Any supporting documentation, if available
        ●        Your contact information for follow-up

Review Process

The Editor reviews every correction request.
When a significant factual error is confirmed:

        ●        The article will be corrected promptly.
        ●        A correction note will be added to explain what was changed and when.
        ●        When appropriate, social media posts promoting the incorrect information will also be updated or clarified.

Note: Minor spelling, grammar, formatting, or typographical errors that do not change the meaning of an article may be corrected without a formal correction notice. If we determine that no correction is warranted, we may explain our decision to the person requesting the correction.

Editorial Independence

Times Media, Inc. accepts no payment or consideration in exchange for favorable news coverage. Our editorial decisions are based solely on newsworthiness and the public interest.
